About the Spirit of Alfreton

We launched the Spirit of Alfreton at the start of April 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim was to create a platform where information about local services could be shared and where residents could look for support.

The website is constantly evolving and is becoming recognised as a trusted source of information, as well as a place where local groups, schools and businesses can share their news.

At the time of writing this - January 2021 - we find ourselves in yet another lockdown, with schools closed to the majority of pupils (again) and everyone advised to stay at home.

It's an incredibly difficult situation, one where the rules and regulations are constantly changing.

We are here to help the community, and always have been. With that in mind, we have set up a Covid-19 Information Hub - the go-to place for the latest information.

We'll also use the hub to help signpost you support services and to share information about what's happening locally to help the community during the pandemic.

If you need help finding information about Covid-19 or finding a local service, please let us know and we will do our best to help you.

You can contact us via our social media pages or you can email our editor, [email protected].
